Music Man

After working all morning on The Mikado set, Brian showed up and took me to lunch, and we had a really good conversation about everything moving forward. So, yes, I’m officially moving forward with The Music Man! I’m genuinely excited because creatively I have wanted to do this show from the beginning, and I already have about a million ideas running through my head. At the same time, I’m realizing more and more that I need to stand my ground on certain things and make sure the expectations, responsibilities, and boundaries are clear from the beginning. I’ve spent a lot of years doing theater and have learned what it actually takes to mount a production of this size, especially when you’re wearing more than one hat. Sometimes saying yes doesn’t mean saying yes to everything. It means knowing your value, being willing to compromise where it makes sense, and also knowing where you need to hold your ground. But for now, The Mikado first...and then we’re heading to River City!
