Mardi Gras

Last night, I returned to SeaWorld for Mardi Gras training and was assigned to the Jesters—an assignment that, apparently, I was the only coordinator given. My manager mentioned she thought I’d be good at it, probably because of my experience staging shows, which felt like a nice vote of confidence. But after improvising for five straight hours, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this could really benefit from a proper script. So, I spent two hours writing one, pulling together jokes, themes, and a clear flow to make it all cohesive. Today, I’ll email it to the team, and we’ll see how it lands. They’ll either love it and think I’m a creative genius—or they’ll think I’m overstepping and be ready to rein me in.
