Clean Slate

I’ve been watching Clean Slate on Prime, and while it’s not the best show ever, it’s pretty darn cute. Picture a Southern car wash owner (played by George Wallace) just living his life when—bam!—his estranged kid shows up after years away. But plot twist: the kid he last saw as a son is now a proud transgender woman (played by Laverne Cox). Cue the awkward yet heartfelt reunion, the witty banter, and a whole lot of life lessons wrapped up in comedy. It’s a sweet little show with a big heart, tackling family, acceptance, and second chances in a way that makes you smile while also going, "Huh, good point." Plus, it’s interesting that this was Norman Lear’s last project—kind of a fitting final note for someone who spent his life telling stories that pushed boundaries. Definitely worth a watch!
