I know this statement might get me in trouble, but I watched the Matthew Perry documentary, and yeah, it’s heartbreaking that he’s gone. But at the end of the day, he overdosed—whether he was the one holding the needle (or whatever it was) or not. And now, because he was famous, the cops are on some CSI: Hollywood mission, chasing down every person who ever sold a pill, poured a drink, or maybe just existed in his orbit. Like, heaven forbid a celebrity dies of an overdose without a full-blown conspiracy attached. Meanwhile, if it were just some regular person struggling with addiction? No investigation, no media circus—just a quiet, unceremonious end and a “well, that’s what happens.” It’s like fame doesn’t just make your life more valuable—it makes your death more worthy of justice, while everyone else just fades into another forgotten statistic.
