I was driving home with the windows half down when Ironic came on, Alanis yelling about rain on your wedding day while I’m sitting in traffic thinking about every life choice I’ve ever made felt… correct. It’s such a perfect, talk-too-fast, feel-too-much kind of song. Now all I want is to make my own version of it a little messier, a little more honest, less punchline and more confession. Same melody, new lyrics, because apparently that’s my love language: rewriting the soundtrack of my life on the drive home.
