Day 2

Day two of the Great Cellular Data Mystery. My phone continues to proudly display LTE as though it has accomplished something. It has not. Everything still says Verizon, SafeLink says my balance is fine, and my phone continues behaving like mobile data is a theoretical concept rather than something I actually possess. At some point you realize you have crossed over from troubleshooting into simply pressing things and hoping one of them performs a miracle. No miracle yet. The funny thing is that all of this is happening while my actual life is getting increasingly busy again. I’m preparing to head back up to San Luis Obispo to work on The Mikado, there are materials that need to be purchased and scenic pieces being built, and The Music Man is becoming very real. So naturally the device I use to communicate with everyone involved has chosen this particular moment to stop communicating with the outside world. Perfect timing. Tomorrow perhaps I will once again have internet—or I’ll throw the phone into the ocean. Stay tuned. Assuming I have data.
