Opera SLO letting us use the scene shop for Oliver! is honestly amazing because now we can actually build things without balancing flats in parking lots like traveling pirates. Apparently they had to do a ton of repairs around the building, including clearing out all the weeds and landscaping, and instead of hiring a normal gardening company they hired some guy who clearly charged about nineteen dollars and a Monster Energy drink. Half the time he didn’t even show up, and when he did, Larry and I kept noticing him and his girlfriend sitting in the car very intensely “not gardening.” Bryan eventually calls me on FaceTime and has me walk around the whole property to make sure the work was actually done before he paid him. Meanwhile I’m standing there trying to leave while waiting for the CashApp information and the account name was Tina. Which, if you know, you know. Larry claims he had no idea what was happening because “he doesn’t know about drugs,” which honestly made the entire situation even funnier.
