There’s a line from Tick, Tick… Boom! that hit me hard the first time I heard it, and honestly, it still does:

“The fuse has been lit. The clock counts down the seconds… the flame gets closer and closer and closer, until… all at once… everything explodes.”

That line feels so true to my own life. Sometimes it feels like I’ve been walking around for years with a fuse already burning — trying to hold it together while the pressure builds, choices pile up, time runs out, and the version of life I once imagined drifts further away.

It’s not just about the explosion. It’s about the quiet panic leading up to it — the knowing that something’s coming, that something has to change, but not quite knowing how or when. Or if I’ll still be standing when it does.

But maybe, sometimes, that explosion is necessary. Maybe it clears the space for something new. I hope so.
