Not that this is a good thing, but just like in theater, where the audience only sees what the actors want them to, life’s no different. We put on a polished performance, keep the chaos hidden backstage, and everyone applauds, completely oblivious to what’s really going on behind the scenes. That was me with this situation—playing my part, keeping up appearances, while all the messy, complicated stuff stayed hidden in the wings.
