You know what’s frustrating? Feeling like I’m actually a pretty solid friend. I go out of my way, I make the effort, I do things for people without even thinking twice. But when it comes down to it, the same energy is rarely, if ever, given back.

It’s not about keeping score, but it is about noticing when the balance is completely off. And honestly, I’m tired of pouring so much into friendships that don’t feel like they value me the same way I value them.

At some point, being “the good friend” starts to feel more like being taken for granted.
