Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and my Dad is in the hospital and has been for 6 days. I have not called or texted him at all and will not today to wish him Happy Fathers Day as he does not deserve it. Perhaps I’m being harsh here, but parenthood is earned. I don’t believe in congratulating someone on something they haven’t actually done just because it’s custom to do so.

Even if I did, I wouldn’t expect a a reply or gratitude, because he’s not capable of such things. It may sound horrible, but I’m not the one who changed the locks on the door….he did.
