Day Off

Sheila took the day off work so we could actually hang out since I’ve been at the theater most of the time. I suggested we head over to the Knott's Boysenberry Festival, which I thought would be fun, and after running a few errands I convinced her we could also hit Portillo's since it’s basically a block away.
Somehow the drive still felt long even though it’s only about 24 miles, but honestly the Italian beefs were worth it. We parked a few blocks away, and of course there was a little bit of drama along the way that Sheila had to handle, and she handled it perfectly. We finally walked into the park in the heat and quickly realized we had no idea how the festival actually worked. We somehow managed to walk a ton, go on zero rides, and not even really have any berries.
Eventually it cooled off and we walked back to the car. The drive back was short, and then I turned right around and headed back to San Diego. One of those random, chaotic, kind of perfect days.
