Oprah

So the weirdest thing happened — I was cleaning out the garage and found this old Oprah collage I made forever ago. She was basically my guru back then. And literally the same day, an Oprah podcast popped up on my feed that I had no idea even existed. The topic? Going no-contact. And honestly… it hit me at the exact right moment, especially since my therapist just went on a baby break last month.

Did you know almost one-third of people worldwide are no-contact with a family member? Hearing that doesn’t make you feel broken — it makes you feel like part of this quiet, messy, very real human crowd trying to figure life out.

It’s been almost four years since I’ve spoken to my dad (who lives a mile away), and listening to people talk about choosing peace over pain felt like permission to keep the boundaries I’ve fought for.

If any of this sounds familiar, or if you’re curious what no-contact actually means, watch this episode — it’s worth it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK7EJgILMIk&t=23s
