I watched House of Gucci on Netflix and first of all, I had no idea what the story was. None. And honestly? Fascinating. I was completely glued the entire time.
Second of all and this is embarrassing but I did not realize that was Lady Gaga until after the movie when I Googled it. I just thought, wow, this actress is really committing to whatever this accent journey is. Turns out it was Gaga the whole time and yes, she was fantastic.
What did I learn from this film? Italians can be absolutely crazy and their attitudes are stubborn as hell but I guess I already knew that because it weirdly reminded me of my own family. The loyalty tests. The power struggles. The way money or control can turn people on each other. Families kind of suck sometimes and will absolutely screw you over when things don’t go the way they wanted.
Anyway. Ten out of ten for drama.
