Come On

Almost every day I go to the same gas station and buy a pack of cigarettes, and there is this one thing that drives me absolutely nuts. The same person behind the counter refuses to hand me the cigarettes until the card transaction fully goes through. Like… fully. Approved. Receipt printing. Possibly a confirmation from the universe.
I get it. I really do. Rules, theft, liability, all of that. But when you’re standing there staring at the pack you’ve bought a hundred times, waiting those extra five seconds feels eternal. We both know the card is going through. We’ve done this dance.
It’s such a small thing, but somehow it irritates me every single time. Daily routines have a way of magnifying the tiniest annoyances into personal grudges. Anyway, tomorrow I’ll be back. And tomorrow, we will wait again. 🚬😅
